Getting Ready for 25 Kislev
Hanukah is coming! As a kid that was always an exciting time. Menorah lighting (the eight stemmed candelabra commemorating the Maccabees' standoff in the Holy Temple), potato latkes (pancakes) with applesauce, donuts, and of course a little present every night for the eight nights.
This year the first candle falls on December 6th, so to prepare for the event my local Chabad House hosted a menorah building workshop at our local Home Depot. For one and a half hours everyone was a kid!
